Lightsaber Construction: A Long Held tradition
Building your own lightsaber is a personal process, but a couple tips might help.
Whether you are Jedi, Sith, or Gray, the act of constructing your personal lightsaber is a trial all force wielders must undergo. The lightsaber is considered an extension of the body, forming a bond with the one who wields it. The act of constructing your own personal lightsaber only strengthens that bond, an extra edge you will definitely want in the heat of combat.
It can be a very spiritual process, but we also try to make it fun here at the IGK. We currently offer two different options for the hilt and 6 different blade colors. Each have their own purpose and meaning that can influence the way you fight, possibly more.
Standard Hilt - The "standard" shape for your hilt. It is a straight, cylindrical shape. It is nothing fancy, but it gets the job done. It can work well with any fighting style, but offers no added benefits. Notable wielders include: Yoda, Luke Skywalker, and Darth Vader.
Curved Hilt - A slight variation from your standard hilt, the curved base provides a better grip for leverage when locked up with another lightsaber. It can provide an advantage when paired with the Makashi fighting style. Notable wielders include: Darth Bane, Count Dooku, and Asajj Ventress.
Lightsaber Colors:
Green - This blade color symbolizes wisdom. It's wielders are often older and the go-to people when you seek advice. They are skilled in combat, but will often be regarded as pacifists.
Blue - This blade color symbolizes protection. It's wielders are often guardians and always there to help the innocent. They don't necessarily excel in combat, but they have a high level of persistence and patience.
Purple - This blade color symbolizes control. It's wielders are very direct and know how to get the job done. They are skilled in combat and highly regarded as warriors.
Red - This blade color symbolizes passion. It's wielders are often leaders with a specific goal. They are highly skilled in combat and often a force to be reckoned with.
Orange - This blade color symbolizes bravery. It's wielders are often the first to charge into a fight and back you up. They are skilled in combat, but not the most level headed.
Yellow - This blade color symbolizes balance. It's wielders are caring and there when you need them. They aren't the best fighters, but 2 or more definitely make a powerful ally.
